The following command fixed the issue for me. Not so sure what it does, but it does work. I will find time to research it later.
sudo apt-get install scim-bridge-client-qt

The one that fixed it for me is the one where I had to create a dummy VirtualBox machine and run it simutaneously as my dev box.
I was hoping with the release of version 4 (4.0.4) that this issue was going to go away but still the same result.
Very often I have to create a virtual host in apache and I keep on forgetting the syntax.
This should help out:
NameVirtualHost *:80
<VirtualHost *:80>DocumentRoot "C:\www.ycsoftware.net"ServerName ycsoftware.net<Directory "C:\www.ycsoftware.net">allow from allOptions +Indexes</Directory></VirtualHost>
Why is it when I type “Free Irc” on Google the first 10 links are all Mirc and yet when I go to their website and download the software I then realize that it is a trial version. No wonder why they claiming to have a “Zillion” Downloads. The last time I checked there was a term for trial software: It is called Shareware (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shareware) not Freeware.
This is really Misleading and people out there should be aware of that.
Here is the software that we use when we want to use IRC chat and they are “FREEWARE” not shareware.
1. DMDirc (This is what we use)

2. Firefox (Chatzilla)
